Alumni of Moraine Valley Community College should expect to receive communications over the next several months about being included in an alumni directory that is scheduled for publication in early 2011. Initial postcards were sent to about 39,000 alumni on August 13.
The college is working with Harris Connect to produce the alumni directory, which will include comprehensive biographical listings with contact information, career overviews, and family highlights of graduates. It also will feature a special section about the school’s history and what is planned for the future.
Alumni may receive postcards, e-mails or phone calls from Harris asking for updated contact information. Alumni decide whether their personal information will be published in the directory, so it’s important they be clear about their wishes when speaking to the representative. All updates are returned to Moraine Valley so that the database remains current. Harris Connect is only collecting information for purposes of the directory. Contact information will not be released to any third parties.
“Alumni are scattered across the country, and even around the world, but, no matter where their lives have led them, our alumni all share a common bond, and that’s the place they started out,” said Sue Linn, executive director of the Moraine Valley Foundation. “This is why we are working on a new publication designed to help bring our alumni back together. It will be a fun and useful reference, as well as helpful in keeping people in touch with one another. Please help us make this publication full of the latest information about you and your fellow alumni.”
Questions about the publication can be directed to Kari Pantol, assistant director of the Foundation, by phone at (708) 974-5551 or e-mail to alumni@morainevalley.edu.
